The current Makespace caters to corporate and communities to run workshops, talks, brainstorming sessions, team building, hackathons, performances, parties. Ever wonder how Makespace got to where it is now?
Nestled in SS2 Mall at Petaling Jaya, Makespace is a collaborative working space co-founded by Hakim Albasrawy, Sky Chew and Low Ngai Yuen to inspire people to make things. Equipped with 3D printing facilities, users can bring their prototypes to life quickly and easily.
Makespace even provides a membership flexible for a user’s project needs as well as the space and the tools needed for user’s next invention. Makespace had a small kickstart as an event space in hosting HackerNest KL events back in November 2013.
In early 2015, Makespace moved to a 15,000 square feet space that is 8 times bigger at Quill City Mall along Jalan Sultan Ismail in order to reach a bigger market and to promote the ‘making’ culture.
Makespace has now evolved into primarily focusing on event space as its main business model - catering to corporate and communities to run a variety of events. Known its minimalistic design, rawness and versatility, the space allows the clients to have creative control and transform the space into what they envisioned it to be. Makespace is also a funky joint to inspire and create, fully equipped with tools to turn ideas into reality and at the same time be surrounded by like-minded people.
